Our Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualifications are recognised throughout the world and also offer entry into professional level study. Our applied science courses lead to diverse careers in forensic and biomedical sciences and higher studies in medicine. You will study at Twelve Quays Campus and have access to industry standard facilities including chemistry, biology, physics, electronics, life sciences and diagnostic laboratories.

At Wirral Met College you can learn and develop a variety of different skills to help you progress in your work or life. Courses in this area are designed to give young people and adults more confidence as well as helping you to develop personal and work related skills.

Prep For Life courses offer young people aged 16-24, with learning difficulties or disabilities, the opportunity to develop independence and work skills that will help them in adult life. Students will start at a level which suits them and receive excellent support throughout their time with us, with fully-accessible facilities, highly trained staff and small group teaching.

Wirral Met’s travel and tourism courses lead to industry recognised qualifications, which will prepare you for an exciting career in this dynamic sector. You will be given the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within the travel, tourism and aviation industry, including trips abroad. You will also expand your knowledge by taking part in behind the scenes tours of airports and hearing from industry guest speakers.

If English isn't your main language, our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses can help you improve all aspects of your language skills. Our experienced staff will support you to improve your English and gain a nationally recognised qualification. Students also learn how to access travel, housing, healthcare and the job market alongside tours of our city region. All classes are held on-campus at Conway Park.

A Supported Internship offers young people aged 16-24 with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan, the opportunity to gain practical work-based learning experience, providing a smooth transition from education to paid employment and further study.

Students on the internships spend three days a week in employment and one day a week at College developing employability skills such as CV building, job applications, interview skills and English & maths.

Our School Liaison team aims to give all students the opportunity to discover and explore career pathways, take part in interactive and enjoyable activities, and give students and their influencers up-to-date careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG).

HOW CAN WE HELP?

Gatsby Benchmarks

The services we offer help schools to meet the Gatsby Benchmarks and incorporates best practice as detailed in the Gatsby Toolkit for Schools.

It can also contribute to fulfilling your school’s obligations under the ‘Baker Clause’ which stipulates that schools must allow colleges and training providers access to every student in Years 8-13 to inform them about approved technical education qualifications and apprenticeships. Our varied offer includes presentations, workshops, tours and application sessions.

Assembly Presentations

Our assembly presentations are a great way to deliver key information to a large group of students within a relatively short space of time. We can adapt the length of presentations to suit your schedule and cover a range of topics to meet the needs of students. 

One-To-One Sessions

Our one-to-one sessions provide the opportunity for students to access tailored support and advice from a member of our expert team. They allow students to ask questions that may have not been covered by presentations and receive information that is personalised to their interests and career aspirations. Sessions can be delivered on a drop-in basis and students can also opt to attend a session as part of a small group.
