Supported Internships are education programmes that offer young people aged 16-24 with learning difficulties or a disability the opportunity to gain practical work-based experience with an employer, providing a smooth transition from education to paid employment and/or further study.
As well as providing additional help to your business and filling gaps within your team, taking on a supported intern can help you to create a more diverse and vibrant team, improve workforce morale and customer goodwill.
This free to attend event will explore the benefits that hosting a supported intern can bring to your workforce and wider business. You will have the opportunity to:
- Hear from and meet other employers who have taken on a supported intern with Wirral Met College
- Find out about the funding options available to support you
- Meet the Wirral Met staff who will support you and your intern throughout the whole process
- Network with other local business who are also considering taking on an intern

- Breakfast and refreshments will be provided on arrival
- A limited number of free parking spaces are available at our Hamilton Campus. Additional paid on-street parking is available nearby.
