The Students' Union held it's annual Freshers' Fair on Wednesday 13th September at Wirral Waters Campus. The event was extremely busy and a huge success. There were numerous freebies available for students and lots of organisations offering advice and assistance.
We would like to thank all the external and internal agencies who attended for their continuing support and in making the event a success.
The college charity vote has closed and with 37% of the vote, Claire House has been elected this year's charity.
The Students' Union will be contacting Claire House soon to let them know that they are our chosen charity, and also to see if there are any other volunteering opportunties our students can get involved in, So, watch this space for further updates.

The Students’ Union has an ‘open door’ policy and students are welcome to call in whenever the office is open for a general chat or to discuss a specific problem. Whilst we can’t promise to solve every issue we will do our best to signpost you to the people who can.
Very occasionally, students will find themselves in need of help with a disciplinary issue and we have a dedicated Officer who will support you through the process. If youwould like their assistance please contact the Students' Union.
The Students’ Union works closely with members of the college staff to organise and facilitate the ‘Student Voice’. The Union helps to recruit course representatives and organises training events and meetings which reps attend and put forward their views and opinions on behalf of the other students in their groups.
The Course Representatives play an important role within the college, not only are they the sovereign body of the Students’ Union, but they speak on behalf of their fellow students at the Student Representative Council meetings, which is a two way flow of information. They tell the college what they are doing well and not so well. The college staff representatives listen to all comments and, where possible, act upon those comments. Any actions taken or reasons why actions cannot be implemented are fed back through their personal tutors. The Students’ Union give them information about activities and events that have been organised by the Union.
The Students’ Union not only represents their students internally, but also at local and national levels.
Students’ Union Officers attend NUS Conferences, lobbying the government and your MPs with NUS against tuition/top-up fees and other issues.
